Use Bynor from Claude and ChatGPT (MCP connector)

How to connect Bynor to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex with the MCP connector: server URL, steps, brands and permissions, confirmations, credits and how to revoke access.

Updated · 5 min read

In short

Bynor has a remote MCP connector at https://app.bynor.ai/mcp. Add it as a custom connector in Claude, as an app in ChatGPT (developer mode), or from the command line in Claude Code and Codex, then sign in with your Bynor account and choose brands and permissions. The assistant can then read your brand's data, create editorial plans and images, and prepare posts and replies, which go out only when you confirm them.

What the Bynor MCP connector is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard AI assistants use to connect to external services. With Bynor's connector, Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex work directly on your Bynor account: they read the brand context and metrics, create editorial plans, images and carousels, and prepare posts, schedules and replies to comments.

Bynor stays the place where brands, calendar and data live. The connector lets you use it from the assistant you already work with every day.

What you need

  • A Bynor account with an active subscription or a free trial in progress.
  • The connector address: https://app.bynor.ai/mcp. You also find it in Bynor under Settings, Connected apps, MCP connector address.

Authentication uses OAuth: you sign in with your Bynor account, there are no keys to copy.

Connect Claude

  1. In Bynor open Settings, then Connected apps, and press Connect on the Claude card. claude.ai opens with the connector already filled in (name Bynor and address): confirm.
  2. Alternatively, on claude.ai or in the Claude app go to Customize, then Connectors, add a custom connector, name it Bynor and paste https://app.bynor.ai/mcp.
  3. Claude sends you to Bynor's authorization page: sign in, choose brands and permissions and press Allow access.
  4. In a new chat enable Bynor among the connectors and ask, for example: "Make a two-week editorial plan for my brand".

On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, custom connectors are added by the organization owner.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In Bynor, under Settings, Connected apps, the ChatGPT card copies the connector address.
  2. In ChatGPT's settings turn on developer mode, add a new app and paste the address.
  3. As authentication choose OAuth, press Connect and allow access on Bynor's page.

ChatGPT's menu names change often and developer mode is not available on every ChatGPT plan. If you cannot find the item, look for "connectors" or "apps" in ChatGPT's settings.

Connect Claude Code and Codex

From the terminal:

  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http bynor https://app.bynor.ai/mcp
  • Codex: codex mcp add bynor --url https://app.bynor.ai/mcp, then codex mcp login bynor

The first time, the browser opens on Bynor's authorization page. These tools do not show a visual preview of actions: you confirm each one from the proposal link they give you.

Brands and permissions you grant

On the page "wants to connect to your Bynor account" you decide two things.

Which brands. As account owner you choose between "All the account's brands, including the ones you add later" and "Only some brands". As a collaborator you see only the brands you have access to.

Which permissions, one by one:

  • Read your data: brands, content, metrics, calendar.
  • Create images, carousels and plans: the permission that uses AI credits.
  • Publish and schedule: post, schedule, reply to comments, share or redo a plan, delete posts and cards. A verified app can do it without your click if you tell it to go ahead in the chat ("auto" mode, below).
  • Manage the account: team and settings.

Your team role can limit the permissions you can grant. Guest accounts cannot connect external apps. An authorization request expires after one hour.

What the assistant can do with Bynor

  • Brand: read the brand context and communication profile, add notes to the brand diary.
  • Editorial plan: propose a brief, create a plan, add, edit, regenerate, duplicate and reorder ideas, write texts, manage versions.
  • Images and carousels: generate visuals in the brand's style, add slides, change format, upload your files or capture a web page.
  • Calendar and publishing: see scheduled posts and the best times, prepare a post, edit it, reschedule, republish or cancel it.
  • Inbox: read comments, propose replies and automations, decide on content requests.
  • Analytics: overview, post metrics, charts, PDF reports for the account or for a single post.
  • Competitors: open, check and compare a competitor's profile.
  • Team: see people and propose invitations and permissions.
  • Credits: read the AI credit balance.

Nothing goes out without your click

Anything that publishes, schedules, deletes, replies to comments or changes team and brand identity becomes a proposal with a preview: it runs only when you press the confirmation button. Outside "auto" mode, a "yes" written in the chat does not confirm anything.

If you explicitly ask for it, with Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex some actions can run immediately ("auto" mode), for example a publication or a reply. Team changes, brand identity changes and TikTok posts never run automatically: on TikTok you choose the video's privacy level in the preview.

Credits and limits

The connector is included in the subscription. AI work (generating images, for example) uses AI credits from the same balance you use in the app: see AI credits. To protect the account there are daily safety limits, for example on the number of file uploads: if you reach one, the assistant tells you and you can try again the next day.

Disconnect an app

In Settings, Connected apps, press Disconnect on the app's card: all its access closes immediately. Access also closes by itself when you change or reset your password and when you choose to log out other devices.

Frequently asked questions

What is the URL of the Bynor MCP server?

https://app.bynor.ai/mcp. It is a remote MCP server with OAuth authentication: you sign in with your Bynor account.

Does the connector cost extra?

No. It is included in the Bynor subscription and works during the free trial too. AI generations use your account's AI credits, as in the app.

Can Claude or ChatGPT publish without me knowing?

No. Publications, schedules, deletions and replies arrive as proposals with a preview and run only with your click, unless you explicitly ask for immediate execution of an action that allows it.

Can I use it with several brands?

Yes. When connecting you choose all brands or only some; in the chat the assistant opens a session on the brand you are working on.

How do I remove an assistant's access?

From Settings, Connected apps, with Disconnect. The app cannot use Bynor anymore until you connect it again.
